How to back up your Origin Game data?

Origin is an online gaming, digital distribution and digital rights management platform developed by Electronic Arts (EA) that allows users to purchase games for PC and mobile platforms. Players often want to back up their game data, such as saved games, to avoid losing their progress if they uninstall a game or experience technical issues. Here’s how to back up your game data in Origin on PC and Mac:

Back up your data on Mac:

  1. Open Finder on your Mac.
  2. Go to the “Documents” folder and look for the “Electronic Arts” folder. This is the folder where your Origin game data is stored.
  3. If you plan to uninstall all your Origin games, right-click or select the “Electronic Arts” folder and press Command (⌘) + C to copy it.
  4. If you only want to uninstall one or a few of your games, open the specific folders for those games and look for the “Saves” folder in each of them. Right-click or select these folders individually and press Command (⌘) + C to copy them.
  5. Paste the folder or folders you copied to the location where you want to back up your data.

Back up your data in Windows:

  1. Open the Game Library in Origin.
  2. Right-click the game you want to restore your game from.
  3. Select “Game Properties.”
  4. Click “Cloud Saves.”
  5. Click “Restore Save.”
  6. You’ll see a message that starts with “You are now returning to a locally stored save game.”
  7. Click “OK” and you should be able to play from your last local save game.
